Miyazaki Honten is located in the northern part of Mie prefecture and benefits from the pure underground water that originates from the nearby Suzuka Mountain Range. The company has taken over 30 or so breweries in the area and has grown to over 200,000 square feet in size. The traditional black walls of their traditional buildings date back to pre-war times, and are filled with the sweet smell of the fermenting mash for both their sake brand and distilled shochu brand called Kinmiya. In addition to valuing and protecting tradition, they have also aggressively incorporated necessary initiatives, such as sustainable practices and waste management.
